The Department of Medical Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh is conducting the NEET MBBS Counseling for Medical & Dental programs. The counseling process is being conducted for 85% of government and 100% of private medical and dental seats in Madhya Pradesh. There are 13 government and 9 private medical colleges in MP that offer a total of 2,704 MBBS seats. However, the AIIMS college is not a part of the MP NEET UG counseling process and will be filled through the centralized Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
The MP NEET UG counseling process consists of three rounds - Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-up round, all of which are conducted online. If any seats are left vacant after the mop-up round, then a college round, also known as a "Stray round or College level Spot Round," will be conducted.
To participate in the MP NEET UG/PG counseling process, students must first qualify for the NEET exam and then register themselves by logging in to the official website at https://dme.mponline.gov.in/.

Madhya Pradesh has both good and improving private medical colleges. Although the state allows students from other states to participate in its counseling process, there is a preference given to MP-domicile students. This means that if there are enough MP domicile students to fill all the available seats, then students from other states will not be considered. In the past two years, no non-MP domicile students were allocated seats in the Medical program, but some seats were allocated to them in the Dental program.
The NEET 2020 cut-off for Government College in MP was low, with the last seat allotted to a General category student at a rank of 42080. In the MP NEET UG counseling for 2020, there were 9821 students who had applied for 3152 MBBS seats, which means there were three students competing for each Medical seat on average. This indicates that competition was relatively low in MP for its Domicile students.
