The Department of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh, is conducting the Chhattisgarh NEET MBBS Counselling for both government and private medical and dental seats. The counselling process includes three rounds, with the first round conducted online, the second round conducted offline, and the third round as a mop-up round. If seats remain vacant after the mop-up round, a college round or stray round will be conducted.

Chhattisgarh has six government medical colleges, two private medical colleges, and one AIIMS, with a total of 1195 medical seats. Of these, 116 government seats will be filled through the All India Quota (AIQ) by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), while 654 government and 300 private seats will be filled through Chhattisgarh state counselling.

To participate in the Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling process, candidates must have qualified for the NEET exam and registered on the official website by paying a fee of Rs 1000 for General/OBC candidates, Rs 500 for SC/ST candidates, and Rs 10000 for NRI category candidates, or as per the latest updates from the Department of Medical Education.

Salient Features of Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling 2023

• Free exit is only available in Round 1.
• In Round 2, you can't get out if you don't report. You have to pay a security deposit.
• If a seat is not taken after the Round 2 allotment, the security deposit is not refundable.
• Verification of documents will take place at Raipur when the candidate reports for duty.
• All eligible candidates (not allotted a seat or allotted a seat and taken admission) will receive a refund of their security deposit after the completion of all rounds of counselling.
• The Application form will only be available once before Round 1.

Eligibility Criteria of Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling

• The student must qualify for the NEET examination.
• It is necessary to be an Indian citizen to apply for a government, private, or management position.
• NRI/Other Quota seats are also open to foreign nationals.
• In private medical colleges, non-domiciles may apply for a B-category seat.
• Candidates from their home country are eligible for all seats.
• Accommodation services for students include security personnel and security services.
• Candidates are supposed to pass the 12th grade.

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria For Domicile Claim

To be eligible for Chhattisgarh NEET MBBS Counselling, the candidate must meet one of the following conditions:

1. The candidate or their parent/guardian should be a Chhattisgarh native and have continuously resided in the state for 15 years.
2. The candidate's parent/guardian should possess land or a business in the state for the last five years or be a working or retired state government employee.
3. The candidate's parent/guardian should be a central government employee currently posted in Chhattisgarh.

In addition to the above, the candidate should fulfill at least one of the following conditions:

(a) The candidate should have studied in the state for a minimum of three years.

(b) The candidate should have completed their 11th and 12th standard education in the state.

Type of Seat

• Government seat: These seats are offered in government medical/dental colleges in Chhattisgarh and are available only to domicile candidates.
• State quota seats in private colleges: These seats are offered in private medical/dental colleges for students who are domiciled in Chhattisgarh.
• Private management seat: These seats are open for non-domiciled students.
• NRI seat in private colleges: These seats are offered in private medical/dental colleges in Chhattisgarh for students who are NRIs.

Steps Involved In The Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling Process 2023

Candidates need to register online at www.cgdme.in and pay the application fee of Rs. 1000 (for General/OBC), Rs. 500 (for SC/ST), or Rs. 10,000 (for NRI) through an online mode.

• After registration, candidates need to log in using their ID and password and take a printout of their online application form.
• A merit list will be published and candidates will need to fill their choices online.
• Allotment of seats will be published and candidates will be required to report and verify their original documents.
• The registration process will only be open once before round 1 of the counseling.

Choice After Allotment of Seat

• If you are satisfied with the college allotted to you, you can report to the college and verify your documents.
• If you are satisfied with the college allotted to you but want to explore the possibility of getting a better college in the next round, you can report to your allotted college and select the up-gradation option in round 2.
• If you are not satisfied with the college allotted to you and want to participate in the next round, you can skip reporting in round 1.
