Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College was established in the year 1989 and is continuing to provide high-quality education for a number of years. The medical college is located in main Pune, on the Satara road in the Southern part of Pune City, which is 5 km away from Swargate. It is also known as BVMC Medical College Sangli. The center of appeal is its academic excellence and infrastructure.
Bharati Vidyapeeth University (Deemed), Pune is affiliated to Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College Sangli. It was initially associated with the University of Pune; but, over time, beginning in the year 1966, it began to affiliate with Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
The college has an attached teaching hospital, which is spreading over to 25 acres and is surrounded by a lush green environment. Bharati Hospital has been awarded the A + grade by the Government of Maharashtra under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (Formerly - Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana).
The degree of the college is recognized by the National Medical Council (NMC), and even the students from this college are capable to appear in USMLE and PLAB examinations. Due to the good ratio of faculty, and high-qualified teachers, the passing percentage of students is impressive.
The medical college offers courses like MBBS, MD, and MS. Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College offers 150 MBBS seats for the MBBS programme i.e. undergraduate course. The duration of MBBS is 4.6 years excluding a 1-year internship.
