NEET UG Counselling is expected to begin from 3rd week of July. This phase is important for all medical and dental aspirants who have successfully cleared the NEET exam, as it marks the beginning of journey towards securing admission in MBBS and BDS across India.
NEET UG Counselling to be Held in 4 Rounds
The counselling for NEET UG will be conducted in four rounds of AIQ Online Counselling i.e. AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Round 3 (earlier known as AIQ Mop-Up Round) and Stray Vacancy Round.
NEET UG 2024 Counselling Highlights
- 15% All India Quota: MCC conducts counselling for 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats for MBBS and BDS programs.
- Banaras Hindu University (BHU): Counselling covers 100% of MBBS and BDS seats.
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS): AIIMS counselling includes 100% of MBBS seats across all AIIMS institutions in India.
- Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER): Includes open seats for both Puducherry and Karaikal campuses, along with internal (domicile) seats.
- Aligarh Muslim University (AMU): Covers both open and internal seats
- Delhi University (DU) and Indraprastha (I.P) University: 85% internal quota/domicile seats are available for institutions like VMMC, ABVIMS, and ESIC Dental College.
- Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI): Includes open seats for the Faculty of Dentistry and internal seats
- Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC): Includes 15% All India Quota seats and Insured Persons (IP) quota seats.
- Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC): Registration is required, but further details of the selection process are handled separately.
- B.Sc. Nursing: Includes 100% of seats in selected central B.Sc. Nursing institutes.
Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Admission in NEET UG Counselling 2024
To participate in NEET UG Counselling 2024 for MBBS admission, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Age Criteria
- Minimum Age: Students must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2023.
- Maximum Age: There is no upper age limit for applying to NEET UG Counselling 2024.
Educational Qualification

Primarily, student must start by visiting the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in.
Step 2 – Select the option “UG Medical”
From the menu section, locate and proceed to the undergraduate medical counselling section.

Fill the necessary documents and fill the necessary details like NEET roll number, name, date of birth and the contact information.
