Uttar Pradesh NEET counselling is being governed by DGME – “Director General of Medical Education and Training” U. P.
UP is an open state which allows everyone from any state to participate in its Medical/Dental counseling. Candidates having UP state domicile can participate for Govt. seat rest can apply for Private seats.
There are 4 phases in which counseling took place namely 1st round, 2nd round, mop up round and stray round. Registration is open before every round. Physical verification of documents required before the start of counseling round. Those who have registered already in the first round need not register again. Registration is open
Mop Up round is a spot or physical round, where candidates are asked to come for the seat selection as per the availability of the seats.
Stray Vacancy round is being conducted by respective college depending upon seat availability. Students are required to prepare DD and come to the college with requisite documents.
Get My University Observations
According to “Get My University” survey, this year 2019 due to large number of colleges and seats and variable fee structure which tend to be on the higher side compared to many other states, we found cut off was low in the first round and there were steep hike in the cut off during second and subsequent rounds.
Get My University team works on the trend analysis where we do extensive data analytics and accordingly guides aspirant to opt or opt out from any particular round.
Though fee structure published were very confusing, the final figure was at least 30-35% higher than the one reflected by the governing bodies. Fees include – tuition fee, security deposit, hostel, food, miscellaneous. We suggest students to do proper budgeting before applying for counseling, as the security deposit is non-refundable in case of allotment of seat.
High ranking colleges had a very less or no seats in the second round. Colleges too are of various categories, so get proper counseling and then do the choice filling.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MBBS COUNSELLING IN UTTAR PRADESH
- The qualifying examination should be passed with minimum of 50% marks (40% for reserve category candidates) in PCB and English subjects.
- Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.
- The lower age limit to apply is 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission.
- The upper age limit is 25 years and 5 years of age relaxation for reserve categories.
- Only candidates who have qualified in NEET 2019 entrance test by achieving minimum 50 percentile for General and 40 Percentile for SC/ST and OBC will be eligible to participate in the Up NEET 2019 counseling.
- UP Domicile candidates can apply for State Government, whereas Private seat is open for all.
MBBS COUNSELLING PROCESS OF UTTAR PRADESH
1Firstly, candidates will have to register themselves with UP NEET. By paying Rs 2000. Via online/credit/debit card/net banking. 2Candidates have to verify their document at the nodel centers to prove their eligibility.
3After the successful document verification, candidates will receive a secret key to activate their account for the NEET UG counseling for the state quota seats.
4Candidates can login to their account as per the schedule and check the seat matrix for the choice filling.
5Based on the candidate’s rank, institute cut off ranks, candidate’s preference, priority, etc., a seat may be allocated to the candidate.
6Candidates can accept the seat allotted and report to the respective college for admissions. Or they can opt for upgradation in round 2.
7Subsequent rounds of seat allotment will be conducted as per schedule and candidates can proceed to participate in the further counseling rounds.
8Security deposit will be forfeited in case of allotment of seat. In case of no allotment it will be refunded back after completion of all the rounds of counseling.
9If a candidate after allotment of seat in the first round didn’t opt college and wish to go for second round, need not register again.
10For upgradation of seat no security deposit is required in the second round of counseling.
11DD detail – In favor of “Director General Medical Education & Training, UP” Payable at Lucknow.
12If a candidate who have applied in the 1st round but did not get a seat, they need not have to re register. They can directly go for the choice filling.
13If a candidate who have applied and did not get a seat in the 1st round and also not wish to participate in the second round, such candidates can approach nodel center at the end of 2nd round of counseling to get the refund of security deposit
14If a candidate who have applied in the 1st round and due to some reason could not verify their documents, such candidate can verify documents in round 2 and can appear in the counseling.
