Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, also known as NDMVP Samaj Medical College, is a well-known medical college in Nasik, Maharashtra, India. The history of the college dates back to 1914. This educational trust was founded by social workers who were inspired by the work of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, and Rajshree Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. Their motto was "BAHUJAN HITAAY BAHUJAN SUKHAAY". The trust aimed to spread education to the poorest of the poor in the villages of Nasik district, using it as an instrument for all-around progress and building a progressively cultured society.
Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, has a sprawling campus of over 53 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a modern hospital with over 1000 beds. Equipped with air-conditioned library, lecture halls, research labs, and hostels for students, the college offers a relaxed and learning-friendly environment to students. The college also has its own research center, a stem cell research center along with a molecular biology research center.
NDMVP has collaborated with several international institutions, including the University of Illinois, Chicago, and the University of Toronto, Canada, thereby providing, students with opportunities for international exposure and exchange programs.
The college conducts several community outreach programs, including health camps, blood donation drives, and health awareness programs. Thus, helping create awareness on healthcare amongst local public.
