PUNJAB NEET UG COUNSELLING 2020
BFUHS: Baba Faridkot University of Health Sciences is the Governing body which conducts counseling for 85% Government seat & 100% Private seat in Medical colleges across Punjab. Remaining 15% Government seat comes under AIQ (All India Quota) for which counseling conducted through MCC (Medical Counseling Committee)
Students are eligible to participate in the counseling after qualifying NEET UG exam by securing Minimum 50 Percentile score for General and 40 Percentile for OBC/SC & ST.
There are 3 Government and 5 Private Medical College in Punjab. Total 1225 MBBS seats are there out of which 600 seats are Government & 625 seats are Private.
For Government and Private MBBS seat only Punjab Domicile Students are eligible to apply. Non-domicile students are also eligible to participate but for the Management seat offered by Private Medical Colleges.
There were 4 rounds of counseling, Round 1 & 2 conducted online, mop up – offline, stray round – Offline by respective college.
Get My University Observations
As per “Get My University” observation, we have found cut off for Government seat through AIQ (All India Quota) was high in both the rounds of counseling. The last seat allotted to a General category student at 5667 rank.
Student can get Private seat at Government fees of 220000, Management seat at 660000 and seat offered in Adesh Institute of Medical Science at 1190000 Per Annum.
Among Government, GMC Amritsar had seen maximum people kept it in top position while choice filling, in Private Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana was on top priority.
Punjab offers Private Management seat at very low fee structure among Private colleges across India except Kerala (Being the lowest)
GMU advises our Medical Aspirant to prioritize state counseling for Government seat in Punjab. Those who are looking for Private seats under Management quota can target Guru Ram Das Institute Of Medical Science, Amritsar as its cut off was comparatively lower than other colleges in Punjab.

Eligibility in punjab UG Counselling
- The qualifying examination should be passed with minimum of 50% marks (40% for reserve category candidates) in PCB and English subjects.
- Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.
- The lower age limit to apply is 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission.
- The upper age limit is 25 years and 5 years of age relaxation for reserve categories.
- Only candidates who have qualified in NEET 2019 entrance test by achieving minimum 50 percentile for General and 40 Percentile for SC/ST and OBC will be eligible to participate in the Up NEET 2019 counseling.
- Punjab Domicile candidates can apply for State Government, Private & Management Seat. Non-domicile can only apply for Management seat in Private Medical College.
COUNSELLING PROCESS of punjab ug
1Firstly, candidates will have to register themselves with BFUHS on bfuhs.ac.in.
2Eligible candidates list will be displayed.
3Candidates can then login to their account and exercise the choice filling.
.4Based on the candidate’s rank, institute cutoff ranks, candidate’s preference, priority, etc., a seat may be allocated to the candidate.
5Candidates can accept the seat allotted, verify their documents & report to respective college OR they can opt for upgradation in Round 2.
6Subsequent rounds of seat allotment will be conducted as per schedule and candidates can proceed to participate in the further counseling rounds.
7Free exit is allowed only in Round 1.
