ANDHRA PRADESH NEET UG COUNSELLING 2020
NTRUHS – Dr. NTR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES is the governing body which conducts counseling for Medical/Dental seats in Andhra Pradesh.
After qualifying NEET, students are eligible to participate in the counseling process. In order to study in the Andhra Pradesh State Government Medical Colleges, students have to apply through MCC for AIQ seats and through NTRUHS for State quota seats.
There are 12 Government & 17 Pvt. Medical colleges in the state. 2045 seats are there in Govt. out of which 307 seats will be filled through AIQ (All India Quota) and remaining 1738 seats will be filled through State counseling process. Total numbers of seats in private medical colleges are 2650, which will be filled completely by State counseling.
The admission in the state medical and dental colleges is administered by the NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijaywada & Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati
The counseling is organized for 85% state Govt. seats and 100% Private. There were three rounds of counseling, 1st round, 2nd round and mop up round (Spot round or physical round). Students having domicile of Andhra Pradesh are only eligible for Govt. seats. Physical verification of document is conducted before the counseling process.
Competent Authority Quota
The seats remaining after contributing of 15% to National Pool (AIQ) in Government Medical/Dental Colleges, ISM & H courses and Category ‘A’ seats (50% of intake) in Private Un-aided Non-Minority and Minority Medical and Dental Colleges under Dr. NTR UHS, Vijayawada and also 105 seats in Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS), Tirupati only.
Get My University Observations
As per the research of “Get My University” getting a Govt. seat in the state of Andhra Pradesh was much easier through state compared to AIQ quota. The last seat allotted for General category in Round 1 was at the rank of 15505 in the State counseling in Government Medical College, Ananthpuram. Whereas the last allotment through AIQ was at the rank of 9268 Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Ongole. Cut off for private seats were also relatively high.

There are 3 different categories of seats in Andhra Pradesh:
- Category A – State Quota seats
- Category B – Management Quota seats
- Category C – NRI Quota Seats
Seats of Private Medical Colleges are divided into following ratio:
- 50% seats will be allocated to A category.
- 35% seats will be allotted to B category.
- 15% seats will be allotted to C (NRI) Category
*There is a high demand of seats in colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Hence, cut off will remain relatively high in 2020 as well.

Eligibility in ANDHRA PRADESH UG Counselling
- Who have qualified and secured minimum percentile in NEET UG – 2020.
- The candidate should be an Indian National or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holder and should satisfy the Local or Non-local status in Andhra Pradesh (Residence requirement) as laid down in Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions
- The candidate should have passed Intermediate (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Biotechnology and English.
- OC candidates should obtain not less than 50% marks in science subjects
- BC/SC/ST candidates should obtain not less than 40% marks in science subjects
- OC PH candidates should obtain not less than 45% marks in science subjects.
- The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31-12-2020. The candidates born on or after 02-01-2004 are not eligible for admission into MBBS/BDS Courses and they need not apply for the counseling.
COUNSELLING PROCESS of ANDHRA PRADESH ug
1Firstly, candidates will have to register themselves by clicking on this link http://ntruhs.ap.nic.in/ & pay Registration fee INR 3540 for General & OBC, INR 2950 for SC & ST.
2Candidates can then login to their account as per the schedule and check the seat matrix for the choice filling
3Based on the candidate’s rank, institute cutoff ranks, candidate’s preference, priority, etc., a seat may be allocated to the candidate.
4Candidates can accept the seat allotted and report to the respective college for admissions. Or they can opt for upgradation in round 2
5Subsequent rounds of seat allotment will be conducted as per schedule and candidates can proceed to participate in the further counseling rounds.
6Report to college & document verification.

Counselling 2020 will be done at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. The counselling of AP MBBS 2020 is held in offline mode and shortlisted candidates are supposed to report at the allotted centre and submit their choices of colleges. Aspirants need to submit the non-refundable amount of Rs. 6,000 through demand draft which includes Rs. 1000 of non-refundable fees. The documents to be required for AP MBBS counselling for management quota seats has been listed below.
- Printout AP MBBS application form 2020
- NEET admit card 2020
- Class 10 mark sheet or birth certificate for the verification of birth date
- Class 12 mark sheet
- NEET 2020 result
- Aadhaar card or Passport for NRI candidates
- Permanent caste certificate
- Minority certificate
- PwD certificate
- An undertaking signed by parents/guardian on white paper
- Declaration signed by candidates
- At least two sets of above mentioned documents
