The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 25 new medical colleges across India for the 2026-27 academic session. Along with new medical colleges, the Commission has also approved 9911 additional MBBS Seats and renewed 1,27,028 MBBS Seats taking the overall MBBS Seat Count to 1,36,939.
Of the 25 new medical colleges, 18 are private and 7 are government colleges that together offer 2400 MBBS Seats with 400 seats in government colleges and 2000 seats in the private colleges.
