MCC NEET UG Counselling Round 1 Cutoff 2026
MCC NEET UG Counselling R1 cutoff for 2026 shows a different trend for Government and Deemed Universities. As per the cutoff release, no major drop was observed when compared with previous years. However, several deemed universities witnessed a significant decline in the closing rank. It was mainly due to changes in fee structure, number of available seats and the reporting process.
Government Medical College Cutoff 2026: Why Was There No Drop?
There was no significant drop seen in Round 1 cutoff for government medical colleges. One of the major reason behind is that the number of government medical colleges and additional MBBS Seats was not sufficient enough to create a change in the cutoff.
The overall difficulty level of NEET 2026 was also broadly similar to 2025, while the number of candidates appearing for the examination was lower than the previous year. As a result, the government college cutoff remained relatively stable.
Why Deemed University Cutoff Dropped
There were majorly four reasons due to which deemed university cutoff dropped in 2026-27.
Reason 1 - Increment in Fees
Higher tuition fees have reduced affordability and therefore demand at some colleges.
Reason 2 - Reporting Changes
The 2026 reporting process includes online reporting/document submission.
Reason 3 - College Specific Demand
Reputed colleges and colleges in popular locations continued to receive strong demand.
Reason 4 - Fee Stability
Where fees remained stable, cutoff movement was comparatively limited.
Government Medical Colleges Cutoff 2024 v 2025 v 2026
The Government Medical College cutoff for MCC NEET UG Round 1 shows a relatively stable trend from 2025 to 2026, with no major relaxation in competition. For the UR category, the closing rank moved from 21,190 in 2025 to 22,342 in 2026, while the cutoff score increased from 534 to 572.
Similarly, the EWS and OBC closing ranks moved slightly higher, but their cutoff scores increased to 564 and 571, respectively. In the SC and ST categories, the closing ranks improved to 1,04,921 and 1,32,111, with scores rising to 489 and 471. Overall, the table indicates that Government MBBS seats remained highly competitive in 2026, and the increase in cutoff scores suggests that there was no significant drop in the Round 1 government college cutoff.
