MBBS Admission Quotas in Jaipur
Government Quota
Government Quota seats are available only in government medical colleges of Jaipur such as SMS Medical College and RUHS College of Medical Sciences. MBBS Seats under Government Quota have the lowest tuition fees and are allotted strictly based on NEET UG Rank through Rajasthan State Counselling.
However, government quota seats are highly competitive due to affordable fee and excellent clinical exposure. Around 85% of seats in government medical colleges are filled through the state counselling process, while the remaining 15% are filled under All India Counselling.
State Quota
State quota seats are reserved primarily for candidates who fulfill Rajasthan domicile requirements. To secure MBBS Admission in Jaipur under State Quota, admission is done through RAJ NEET UG Counselling based on NEET rank, reservation policies and seat availability. To register, students need to register online, complete the document verification process, participate in choice filling and secure a seat.
Management Quota
Management Quota seats are available mainly in private medical colleges and certain government society medical colleges in Rajasthan. Admission is still based on NEET qualification, but the required cutoff is generally lower than Government Quota seats because the tuition fees are significantly higher. Candidates from any state in India are generally eligible to apply for Management Quota seats through Rajasthan State Counselling. No direct admission is permitted outside the centralized counselling process.
NRI Quota
Rajasthan offers MBBS Admission under NRI Quota seats in several government medical colleges, government society medical colleges, and eligible institutions through centralized counselling. Medical aspirants must qualify NEET and satisfy the NRI eligibility requirements, including valid NRI sponsorship and document verification. NRI Quota seats generally have much lower NEET cutoffs than Government Quota seats, but the tuition fees are substantially higher. Admission is granted only through Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling after successful verification of NRI documents.
Rajasthan Counselling Rules: Every Student Must Know
Before applying for MBBS Admission in Jaipur 2026-27, every NEET aspirant should understand the important Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling rules. These guidelines cover eligibility, state and management quota admissions, NRI seats, counselling rounds, domicile requirements, and seat allotment procedures. Having a clear understanding of these rules can help students avoid common mistakes and improve their chances of securing an MBBS seat in Rajasthan.
1. Open State Counselling from Round 3 Onwards
One of the biggest advantages of Rajasthan MBBS counselling is that it becomes an Open State from Round 3 onwards. This means that candidates from other states of India, who were not eligible for certain seats in the initial rounds, can participate in Round 3 and subsequent rounds, subject to the counselling guidelines and seat availability. This offers a valuable opportunity for non-Rajasthan students to secure an MBBS seat in Rajasthan, especially if seats remain vacant after Round 2.
2. State Quota Seats
During the initial rounds of Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling, state quota seats are reserved primarily for domicile students. However, if seats remain vacant, then students from other states may also become eligible to opt for State Quota seats from Round 3 onwards. Therefore, students are advised to carefully check the official counselling notification for the latest eligibility conditions before participating in the counselling process.
3. NRI Quota in Government Colleges
Rajasthan offers NRI Quota seats even in Government Medical Colleges. These seats are open to eligible NRI, OCI, PIO and NRI-sponsored candidates across India. However, first preference is generally given to Rajasthan domicile candidates who fulfill the NRI eligibility conditions. If such candidates are unavailable, eligible applicants from other states can also be considered for admission through the counselling process.
Unlike certain private college NRI seats that may become available in later rounds, eligible candidates can participate for Government NRI seats from Round 1 itself, subject to the prevailing counselling rules.
4. Bank Guarantee in Private Medical Colleges
All the students who are willing to seek MBBS Admission in Jaipur under the Management or NRI Quota in a private medical college of Rajasthan must submit a bank guarantee. As, Bank Guarantee serves as a financial commitment to ensure that the student complies with the admission terms and fee payment obligations. Bank Guarantee amount and validity vary college to college.
Before accepting a seat, students should carefully understand the bank guarantee requirements, refund conditions, and cancellation policy. If you are unsure about the process, seeking professional counselling can help you avoid unnecessary financial risks.
5. Category Qualified Candidates
Before participating in Rajasthan MBBS Counselling, student who qualifies NEET under the reserved category qualifying percentile should carefully verify the eligibility conditions. According to the Counselling Framework 2025, candidates who are only category qualified unfortunately may not be able to participate under certain counselling provisions. The final eligibility shall depend on the official counselling notification issued by Rajasthan Counselling Authority. Students are advised to verify the latest rules before registration in order to make sure that there is no confusion during the admission process.
