Eligibility Criteria for Direct Admission in VIT Vellore
To be eligible for getting direct admission in VIT Vellore, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. The candidate belonging to general category must have cleared their class 12 board examination or equivalent with a minimum aggregate percentage of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
*Candidate belongs to SC/ST hailing from Jammu & Kashmir/ Ladakh and the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, scoring to 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology is required.
2. The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects in their class 12 board examination.
3. Applicant whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2001 are eligible to apply for direct admission in VIT Vellore.
4. Applicant should be a Resident/Non-Resident Indian National/ROI. However, NRI applicants can directly apply under “NRI category” through application form. Similarly for foreign applicants who studied or studying abroad can apply directly through international application form.
VIT Vellore Selection Criteria
• On the basis of rank a candidate secures after giving CBT (Computer Based Test) VITEEE 2025, selection is done.

For direct admission in VIT through management quota, the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is held. The VITEEE will be held at specific locations throughout India and abroad between April 15 and April 21, 2025 (tentative). The test will last for 2 hours and 30 minutes. For the VITEEE, candidates can only appear once for VITEEE. There will be multiple choice questions, with one mark awarded for the correct response and zero for the incorrect answer. There will be a total of 125 questions, 40 of which will be in the math/biology portion. The remaining 35 questions will be in physics, 35 in chemistry, 10 in aptitude, and 5 in English.
