Kursk State Medical University (KSMU) is a government-funded public university that was established back in 1935. The institute started with just 250 students and was originally known as Kursk Medical Institute. It received full university status in 1994, recognizing its growth and academic achievements. Kursk State Medical University guarantees hostel accommodation to all international students through its six fully furnished residence halls with a total capacity of over 2,000 students. Three modern hostels are specifically designated for international students and are located within a short walking distance from the university campus. The hostel rooms are shared, typically accommodating two to three students, and come fully equipped with beds, study desks, chairs, wardrobes, bedding, and essential furniture. All hostels feature central heating, hot and cold water supply, and 24/7 Wi-Fi connectivity. Students have access to common kitchens on each floor where they can prepare their own meals, along with shared bathrooms and laundry facilities.

Food Challenge:
The university provides Indian mess facilities for around $120 monthly, plus there are self-cooking options in hostels. With such a large Indian community, you can find Indian grocery items relatively easily. You will survive on university mess initially, but eventually, you will crave variety. With enough Indian students around, one will always know where to get dal, rice, and spices.
