The Bangladesh Medical College (BMC), located in Dhaka, can be considered one of the oldest and finest Private Medical Colleges in the country. It was established in 1986 through the Bangladesh Medical Studies and Research Institute (BMSRI), which has enabled BMC to train qualified, caring physicians for both the local and international communities. BMC is affiliated to the University of Dhaka, and uses a student-centered model of education that incorporates best techniques for disseminating knowledge and providing real-life clinical experience.
The MBBS degree curriculum of BMC is based on the curriculum developed by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). The program consists of five years of intensive academic training and a one-year training period combined with clinical training. Students who complete their studies at BMC will have gained valuable hands-on clinical training at BMC's affiliated teaching hospital, in addition to having timely exposure to patient care and research opportunities, and will be prepared to carry out their ethical responsibilities to their patients. Through the combination of being taught by a well-prepared group of faculty, access to well-equipped research laboratories, and an extremely diverse patient population, students gain knowledge about many facets of medicine, including surgical techniques and the treatment of heart disease.
One of the reasons why BMC has become a leading choice for medical education for international students, particularly Indian students, is that BMC provides an affordable, high-quality educational experience and that all courses are taught in English.
